    Is exposing rappers who exaggerate lyrics the new thing now?

    As expected, the lyrics to Jay-Z’s “Open Letter,” a song where he addresses the criticism surrounding he and Beyoncé’s trip to Cuba, have caused quite a stir.

    During a White House press briefing, Politico reporter Donovan Slack recited the lyrics to the song and asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney whether President Obama gave Jay and Bey clearance to travel to Cuba. Read More »

    Jay-Z Addresses Controversial Cuba Trip With ‘Open Letter’

    School is in session. Professor Jay-Z is reading an “Open Letter” to the class with music provided by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland.

    Evidently, Mr. Knowles-Carter is irritated by the media’s coverage of his controversial trip to Cuba and news of him divesting ownership of the Brooklyn Nets, so he went in the booth, recorded a musical version of Wendy Wiliams’ Hot Topics and basically mocked everyone that had something to say.     Beyoncé & André 3000 Put A Hip Hop Spin On Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back To Black’

    Wait, more Beyoncé news is occurring.

    Pepsi’s pride and joy reunited with André 3000 for a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back To Black.” Their version puts a hip hop spin on Amy’s classic and adds some wobbling synths to the beat. A preview of the song can be heard in the trailer for The Great Gatsby, which stars Leonardo DeCaprio and Tobey Maguire.

    Jay-Z, who is an executive producer of the film, Emeli Sandé and Florence + The Machine are other names that will appear on the soundtrack. Read More »

    Listen: Kendrick Lamar Ft. Jay-Z – ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe’

    If you thought Kendrick Lamar’s original “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe” was incredible, wait until you hear the Jay-Z-featured remix. It boasts two new verses from K. Dot, one of which makes you forget you just listened to a 16 by Mr. Carter.

    The remix is accompanied by black-and-white cover art that features the greatest NBA player of all time, Michael Jordan, and his successor, Kobe Bryant. The symbolism is obvious. All I can say is: poor J. Cole.

    Kendrick Lamar continues solidifying his position as MTV’s Hottest MC in the Game. After blazing the stage at Alicia Keys’ Los Angeles tour stop, DJ Young Guru previewed a remix of good kid, m.A.A.d city fan-favorite, “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

    Justin Timberlake Awkwardly Denies Dissing Kanye West

    In support of The 20/20 Experience, Justin Timberlake is taking over Late Night with Jimmy Fallon for the week. Backed by a band and a few dancers, JT kicked things off with a performance of “Pusher Love Girl.”

    The 32-year-old also sat down with Jimmy and denied taking a jab at Kanye West during his performance of “Suit & Tie” on Saturday Night Live. He changed the lyric to “My hits so sick got rappers acting dramatic” in response to Kanye’s rant in London. Read More »
