Ten months has passed since President Fitz killed mean ol’ lady Verna. Guilt isn’t plaguing his mind, though; it’s the disloyalty of his right hand and the reason he breathes–Cyrus and Olivia, respectively. Apparently the beacon of morality would have preferred losing the election rather than stealing the White House. Read More

    Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Mixing business with pleasure is sometimes a job requirement, especially if you’re an undercover cop. In the latest episode of NBC’s Deception (“A Drop of Blood and a Microscope”), Joanna Locasto (Meagan Good) may have found her business–mingling with the Bowers, particularly Julian (Wes Brown)–a little too pleasurable.

Will Moreno (Laz Alonso) assumes the rich playboy is wooing Joanna over. He did lavish her with a shiny new Mercedes after all. Joanna negates her boyfriend’s claims by reaffirming her position as a cop. As we know, being a cop is something “Jo” can’t turn off–she runs towards gunshots and attacks shady burglars. Read More

    Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

“Looks like the world just came to Storybrooke.”

Storybrooke’s mystical barrier was officially broken in Once Upon a Time’s “In the Name of the Brother” episode. An amnesiac Belle is terrified by Mr. Gold wielding magic to heal her gunshot wound cause by Hook, and a stranger has crossed over into Storybrooke and struck Hook, accidentally, with his car. The three are transferred to Storybrooke General Hospital, where they’re under the care of a lush Dr. Whale.

Nurses eagerly call out for Dr. Whale to report to the E.R., but the good doctor has secluded himself in a shabby office to throw back glasses of liquor and reminisce about his past. A flashback leads us to the Frankenstein castle, where we see Victor (Dr. Whale), his brother Gerhardt and father Alphonse celebrating Christmas. Read More

‘Arrow’ Recap: A ‘Burned’ Firefly Exacts Revenge

    Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Earlier this week, The CW’s Arrow returned after a brief hiatus. Much of the episode covered Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) posttraumatic stress stemming from his near-death dual with the Dark Archer in “Year’s End.” Not only was Oliver physically weakened by the altercation, but his confidence had taken a nosedive as well. This was evident after a reluctant Oliver obliged Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) request to investigate her friend Joanna’s (Annie Ilonzeh) firefighter brother’s suspicious death.

By Diggle’s (David Ramsey) persistent pressuring, Oliver reprises his role as Arrow and enters a burning building where he encounters the killer firefighter–Batman villain Firefly (Andrew Dunbar)–for the first time. He arrives just as Firefly tosses an innocent firefighter into a bed of flames. They fight. Arrow loses. Badly. Firefly spares him, indicating to viewers his plight is against firefighters, not harmless bystanders guised in hoods and armed with arrows. Read More

    Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

Olivia Pope’s ongoing affair with President Fitzgerald Grant isn’t the only scandal she’s been covering up. On the latest episode of Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal, viewers learn more about her involvement with the rigging of voting machines in Defiance, Ohio, that ultimately led to Fitz winning the presidential election. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the fixer of all things broken in Washington was in on the conspiracy, but Shonda and co. did a great job illustrating her struggle with succumbing to Hollis, Cyrus, Verna, Mellie’s request.
