Future catered to the streets with “Tony Montana,” the club with “Same Damn Time” and the ladies with “Turn On The Lights.” Notice the emphasis on ladies (with an –S). In the video, the Atlanta rapper seduces two women and things get complicated very quickly (for him and anyone watching). Read More »

Once a year, MTV celebrates music and the videos accompanying it with an annual ceremony, the Video Music Awards. At last year’s ceremony, Beyoncé revealed she was pregnant with her first child and Lady Gaga made Britney Spears enormously uncomfortable as Jo Calderone.

John Mayer ‘Queen Of California’ [Video]
Written by Ron on July 31st, 2012 | Posted in: Video | No Comments »
John Mayer strolls westward through various terrains in his video for “Queen of California,” the second single from his latest album, Born and Raised. The nomadic cowboy occasionally stops to jam out with his band. By the end of the video, it’s revealed that he’s indeed filming a music video.
Although the album experienced a grand amount of success, John hasn’t been able to promote it properly due to an injury to his vocal cords. The soulful crooner has taken an indefinite break from live performing until his throat heals properly, which won’t be any time soon. He will undergo another surgery at the end of August.
To compensate fans, he has packaged an EP of four in-studio acoustic performances and a new song, “Go Easy On Me,” that will be available to purchase on iTunes on August 7th. Read More »
Keyshia Cole Loses Her Mind Over Love [Behind-The-Scenes]
Written by Ron on July 31st, 2012 | Posted in: Video | No Comments »
Keyshia Cole will provide a healthy dosage of “hood crazy” in the video for “Enough of No Love,” the lead single from her forthcoming album, Woman to Woman. Benny Boom, the video’s director, wanted to offer beauty and fashion in Cole’s comeback video, and something where she could perform passionately.
Though the insane asylum scene is reminiscent of Rihanna’s “Russian Roulette” video, Keyshia said Halle Berry’s Gothika inspired the scene. Love caused the R&B songstress to go off the deep end, and she acted out the scene convincingly in a $2300 pair of Giuseppe Zonotti wedges.
Keysh will also incorporate choreography in the video. Surprisingly, not the same two step routine from her “Let It Go” days, but some impressive and fancy footwork. The dance sequence will play during Lil’ Wayne’s performance scene.
The full-length video will premiere on BET’s 106 & Park on Wednesday, August 1. Watch a behind-the-scenes clip below. Read More »

Usually, Meek Mill is found standing firmly next to his MMG boss, Rick Ross. However, on the latest issue of The Source, he stands solo and salutes viewers (or himself) in a bright red jacket. He has blazed the streets with his Dreamchaser mixtape series and expects to follow-up with a strong debut LP, Dreams and Nightmares.
“It’s all about me thinking what type of first album am I gonna present to the people,” says Meek. “[I got] something for the streets, the clubs, storytelling, soulful songs, deep songs.” Read More »
