Atlanta native Crystal Nicole is emerging from the songwriting scene, with hopes of following paths similar to successful songwriter-singers Ne-Yo, Keri Hilson and The-Dream. Nicole already has a résumé filled with highly acclaimed acts including: Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Brandy, Monica and Natasha Bedingfield. Her latest achievement was for Rihanna’s Grammy-winning hit “Only Girl (In The World).”
Earlier this year, the Blackground Records/Interscope recording artist released her debut single “Pinch Me,” a dramatic song about anticipated misery and heartbreak from a scorned soul.
“It’s about a girl that’s in the beginning stages of a relationship that seems like he might be the one. But she’s had so many problems in the past, that she’s just like ‘if you’re not gonna be everything I need, just pinch me now and wake me up.’,” Crystal explains.
She continues by explaining her favorite part of the song.
“My favorite line is the last line in the hook: ‘pinch me now, wake me up, don’t let me get to the good part if you’re gonna break my heart. Pinch me now. ‘ I think everyone can relate to that because you’d rather wake up instead of dealing with the let down in the end.”
Now, Crystal matches the emotional song with a visual - crafted by G Visuals and R Fat Cats. Q. Parker of 112 plays Crystal’s husband-to-be, singers Dondria, K. Michelle and Tiffany Evans serve as her bridesmaids and producer Jazze Pha acts as a pastor. Watch below…

In early September, GQ collected the members of The Dungeon Family for a photo shoot spread at an Atlanta park. As expected, the Family were dressed in very distinctive outfits.
Big Boi and André 3000 of Outkast, Cee Lo Green, T-Mo and Khujo of Goodie Mob, Sleepy Brown, Big Rube, Ray Murray and Rico Wade all showed up for the shoot. Backbone, Cool Breeze and Witch Doctor were not featured in the spread for unknown reasons.

Last night, Waka Flocka Flame hit the stage at Center Stage in Atlanta with Tyler, the Creator and his Odd Future minions. They performed “Karma,” “Keep It Real” and “B*tch Suck D*ck.” During the extremely hype performance, Tyler exclaimed, “that was so f*cking cool,” while Waka changed, “Wolf Gang, Brick Squad!”
Meanwhile, the Futuristic Blogger interviewed Waka, where he discussed his relationship with Suge Knight, explained his “Gucci Mane Home” Tweet and revealed the title of his new album: Triple F Life (Friends Fans & Family). The album is expected to drop in December 2011.

Watch out Solange and DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown (Erykah Badu)! A new singer-turned-DJ is in the mix. Last night, Grammy-winning soulstress Alicia Keys made her DJing debut at YOTEL, a swanky hotel in New York City. DJ and producer husband Swizz Beatz kept a close eye on Alicia as she handled the boards for over an hour. Swizzy was so impressed that he dubbed her DJ AK-47.

With no opening act, the duo maintained the crowd of over 20,000 with performances of their individual hits, along with their collaborations.
