  • Justin Bieber Covers Lil’ Wayne’s “How To Love” / L.A. Reid Speaks On Discovering Usher

    Thu, Sep 29th, 2011 |  Leave A Comment »

17-year-old Pop sensation Justin Bieber covered Lil’ Wayne‘s mellow jam “How To Love,” as a gift to the “Abortion” rapper. The cover is an acoustic remix, which could have been used to show Bieb’s often questioned vocal prowess. Unfortunately, enhancements and a bad rap verse reinforces the naysayers.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Epic Records L.A. Reid spoke with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robison and discussed using his X Factor expertise, prior to becoming a judge, when discovering Usher, who later introduced Bieber to him.

They were seemingly the reincarnation of 60s pop group, The Supremes, but instead with four members. With Oakland, California origins, Terry, Maxine, Cindy and Dawn formed En Vogue and rose to fame in 1990 with their pop crossover hit, “Hold On“.

The group suffered many label changes, member departures, and various woes that comes with the ever-changing music industry. Now, the women are back and are ready to see the spotlight once more with the release of their new single, “I’ll Cry Later”, serving as the lead single from their forthcoming seventh studio album.

However, the band stands as a trio, as Dawn Robinson refused to sign with Rufftown Records with the other members because of skepticism about the deal. Nonetheless, Robinson is still great friends and is touring with her fellow members.

    Thu, Sep 29th, 2011 |  Leave A Comment »

Just recently, we reported to you that X Factor judge and creator, Simon Cowell, felt that superstars Beyoncé and Lady Gaga were boring entertainers. For a minute, we all had to scratch our heads because of the randomness and obvious foolery within the statement. Now, Cowell says that he never made such statements and goes on to praise the two for their tremendous strides in the industry.

    His rep tells RapRadar,

“This was completely misreported. It’s the complete opposite in fact.He thinks they are two of the most interesting, talented and relevant artists today.”

“Simon is a massive fan of both and he always refers to them as amongst the artists he most admires,” the rep continues. “He thinks they are two of the most interesting, talented and relevant artists today”.

Cowell then goes on to give his thoughts on the dominating entertainers,

“[Beyonce's] the biggest star we’ve seen in 20 years; we’re seeing sort of the rise of the super female pop star. It’s like a different breed. Beyonce has that.” Cowell says.

“[Gaga] has The X Factor. She’s smart … [and] has real ambition. She is a total, utter star…you have to be open and embrace this level of expression. You hope to God that you can find someone like her,” he exclaims.
