Wale enlists Jeremih and the boss, Rick Ross, for the official video of “That Way“, a cut off Self Made Vol. 1. The visual sees the D.C.-born rapper recounting his rendezvous as he lives the lavish life of an entertainer.
It’s a solid track with a soulful feel. Unfortunately it’s accompanied by an average video.
Peep the video below…
Wale’s latest mixtape, The Eleven One Eleven Theory is available now. His sophomore album, Ambition, is due out November 11.
“With great power, comes great responsibility.”, a phrase that singer/songwriter, Alicia Keys seems to know, understand and accept. Since her debut in the music industry ten years ago, she’s used her platform as a celebrity to bring awareness, aid and support to world epidemics like HIV/Aids, hunger, and now she’s lending her hand to breast cancer awareness with her involvement in Five, Lifetime’s series of films about women and breast cancer that, airing in a two-hour block.
Keys covers the October issue of Glamour magazine with fellow A-list stars/philanthropists, Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore. Despite the regard of their celebrity, the three have detached themselves from Hollywood and attached themselves to social responsibility…eventually stitching the two to illuminate the cause.
In the issue, she talks how she get involved with the project, her breakthrough in Egypt, and what or who makes her giddy.
Young Money’s Shanell is back with a fresh release titled, “2 Seconds Too Late”, and it’s a power ballad that sees the California-native rejecting a man that took to long to care.
“Had the flowers, the candy with open arms to find himself standing there alone. Cuz he’s 2 seconds too late” she belts.
Janet Jackson, little sister to the late, great Michael Jackson releases a statement that she won’t be in attendance at the star-studded tribute, Michael Jackson Forever.
Though the October 8th show is equipped with performances from Ne-Yo, Christina Aguilera, and Beyoncé via satellite, Jackson cites the court case as her reasoning for missing the occasion. Timing seems to be everyone’s concern, but promoters have continued to move on with the big show.
“Because of the trial, the timing of this tribute to our brother would be too difficult for me,” her statement reads.
“What do you do after 16 Grammys and millions of records sold? Whatever makes you happy,” Beyoncé exclaims in the latest footage that goes behind the scenes of 4 Intimate Nights with Beyoncé , a four-night concert Mama Bey gave fans at New York’s Roseland Ballroom.
In the clip, you witness the businesswoman calling shots, offering ideas and demonstrating the music mogul she is. It’s definitely clear that the singer, who’s almost 30 years old, is at a very content place in her life and her new music is a direct reflection of that.
She’ll never be a stick figure, but the figure Jill Scott is wearing is God fearing, endearing and a visual to “baby-making music”. In other words, Jill looks AMAZING. The recently surfaced picture wasn’t officially released by Scott so there’s no telling if the lords of photoshop have waved their wands on this image.
The soul songbird lost 63 pounds over the summer and credits her two-year old son, Jett, as the motivation.
“There’s a world of discovery in his eyes,” Scott tells Us. “And I want to be around to enjoy it!”
Can you believe Solange Knowles has the nerve to use Janet Jackson as inspiration for her follow-up project to 2009′s Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams? What makes her think she has that it to make an album Ms. Jackson (I”m nasty) would be proud of? I mean, she only pens the majority of her songs, has an admirable, signature style that fashionistas love, DJs all over the country, cares for a camera-ready/cool kid son (I hear she’s a cool mom. oh, wow), and has a wide-ranged voice that gives you goosebumps in its low register and gives you wings in its highest.
I guess you’ve guessed that I love this girl and considering reasons mentioned, I’m not sure why you don’t. A little over a week ago, the Knowles’ favorite rebel took to Twitter to answer questions from her followers and when asked about the sound of her forthcoming album she says…
She mentions a song she wrote for Kelly Rowland, having more kids, and MORE below…
Lloyd rallies an acoustic session with fans as he previews a rough version of a song he seemingly just put together titled, “Inside Your Love“. The 25-year old released a solid R&B album over the summer, King of Hearts, that proved he could deliver music that resonated higher than the usual, one-dimensional songs we’ve experienced from him.
The “Lay It Down” singer surely calls for hearts, painting elements of romanticism with his lyricism and vocal delivery. Will songs like “Inside Your Love” see Lloyd soaring above his latest effort?
