NBC is searching for The Voice of America. The singing competition, hosted by Carson Daly, is tentatively titled, The Voice. The show strictly focuses on “the voice” of the contestants, whom are judged by vocally powerful entertainers – Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green.
The competition consists of three phases: a blind audition, battle phase and live performance. After the judges select their respective teams through blind auditions, the members of the team will battle each other by singing the same songs. Mentors of the singers are responsible for selecting the best singer to progress. Once the best members of the teams remain, they will enter the live performance phase. Here, the television audience will vote to save a contestant, and the coach will decide which of the remaining stay and go. Eventually, the four best contestants of each coach will compete in the finale. From these four, one will receive the top prize of a Universal Republic recording contract and $100,000.
