Along with Taylor Swift, the Queens-native was honored as a part of Billboard’s seventh annual Women In Music event held in New York, complimented with a magazine issue.

“Thank you guys. I just know that I’m so incredibly thankful for a couple of little kids…maybe a few million, I call them my Barbz. I know they’re not in here today, but I know they’ll hear me say this…Barbz I love you so much for being by side for such a long time.” Minaj says in tears. “Billboard, thank you so much for recognizing me…even before “Super Bass” and even before Pink Friday. You believed in me, even then and I’m just really really excited. All of the women tonight that have been recognized, I am so proud of you for showing me that this can be done, that this is possible, for showing girls that you can be your own boss and that you make music that you want.”
