In recent years, pop superstar Katy Perry has experienced success like no other. Her latest album, Teenage Dream, was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year (2011), is certified double platinum and spawned five chart-topping singles.
Currently, she’s tied with Michael Jackson for having the most number one singles released from a one album. Her latest single, “The One That Got Away,” is slowly creeping up the Hot 100, but Perry & co. expect that to change in the coming weeks.
The “Firework” singer has axed the price of the song from $1.29 to $0.69. It’s the only song in the top 50 at that price. If it tops the Hot 100, it will be her sixth number one from a single album, surpassing MJ’s record. Is Katy desperate for another number one hit or is she being generous for the holidays?
