Rihanna’s The X Factor UK Performance Sparks Controversy

By: | November 21st, 2011

Following her lackluster showing at The X Factor US, Rihanna jetted to the UK to perform her smash “We Found Love” in front of Kelly Rowland and the other judges. The performance was actually better, considering she actually sang the song.

Parallel with everything she does, the bad girl of Pop&B has stirred some trouble surrounding her performance. The “Birthday Cake” singer wore a plaided school girl outfit, with shoes with the words “F*ck Off” written on them. Apparently the vulgar word rubbed some the wrong way. A spokesperson for the show dismissed the controversy.

“There were no close-up shots of Rihanna’s shoes,” the spokesperson said. “We believe the performance was suitable.”
