VH1 has gathered divas Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Kelly Clarkson, Florence + The Machine and Jessie J in one place to celebrate soul. The chosen acts are surely ‘divas’ in their own right, demonstrating vocal prowess, stage presence and respectable artistry since their industry beginnings.

Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Boyz II Men, Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Ledisi and Travie McCoy also paid tribute to soul music hubs including Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia. Nas hit the stage to introduce a tribute for his diva friend, the late Amy Winehouse.

The soulful singers performed in benefit of VH1’s Save The Music Foundation at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC. VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul is scheduled to air tomorrow at 9pm on VH1.
