Tyler, The Creator Says He Has Known About Frank Ocean’s Sexuality For A While

On Independence Day, Frank Ocean shared the story detailing his first love in a stirring letter. Solange, Mac Miller and members of his Odd Future family tweeted words showing their support. Even Tyler, the Creator, who has been labeled a homophobe due to his frequent use of slurs like “faggot,” tweeted his support (in his own unique way, of course).

Remember Formspring? Well, Tyler still uses the platform to interact with his fans. After a fan brought up the widely discussed topic, Tyler responded, further extending his support for the “We All Try” crooner.

Commentor: Frank is the fucking man, and a hero and inspiration to everyone. His sexuality has nothing to do with how amazing his music and talents are. Tyler, you’re also amazing for not caring about that stupid bullshit. You’re honestly a good dude.

Tyler: “hahaha yeah, ive know for a while, he told me a long time ago. it was just funny cause i was getting bashed as a homophobe or whatever and i kept saying dude how am i one? i have gay friends like what the fuck leave me alone haha. yeah thats my nigga tho, shit is hard for him but he did that.”

Frank himself has subtly retorted to people referring to him as a victim. He tweets, “im not a victim. im grown. life’s way harder for a lot of people. i still love everyone of ya’ll. no condescension.”

Prior to extending the ongoing conversation, he released “Sweet Life,” a sugary summer jam showing off the charms to Frank’s artistry. “Why see the world, when you’ve got he beach?” he inquires. We should appreciate what we have, right? Pharrell assisted him in penning and producing the track. Channel ORANGE coming soon.
