Young Jeezy recognizes the importance of giving back to those that afforded him a lavish lifestyle and propelled him to rap stardom, so every major holiday (for the past 12 years), he hosts charities and food drives in impoverished Georgia communities. The latest was his Christmas-inspired “Snow Toy Tour.”
T.I.’s eighth studio album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head, earns the runner-up spot on the Billboard 200 with sales of 179K copies in its first week. The set is his eighth top ten effort, and it’s a surplus compared to his 2010’s No Mercy, which moved 160K in its first week.
T.I., the self-crowned King of the South, will not tolerate anyone calling him a “has-been.” Especially considering that “no other rapper in history has had to endure the circumstances that [he] had to endure while maintaining a professional career.” 2 Pac, Shyne, Kanye, etc. may beg to differ, but that’s another post.
Months ago, Tip’s good friend Nelly visited Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. Wendy Williams’ former subordinate, Charlamagne, ruffled feathers by labeling both T.I. and Nelly “cold” rappers.
Twelve years in the game, and humility is still a fantasy to the self-proclaimed “King of the South” T.I.. He made promotional rounds at New York’s Hot 97 in support of his eighth studio album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head.
“When you have sold all the tickets you can to the fight, nothing else will sell but the reunion,” he told Flex about attempting to end Young Jeezy and Rick Ross’ ongoing feud.
T.I. is gifting his fans with an early Christmas present–a stream of his eighth studio album, Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head, which is in stores now. It boasts A-list appearances by Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, André 3000, R. Kelly, P!nk, Cee Lo Green and Akon. View the tracklist and stream below.
“Smoking weed, riding chrome, slanging keys and spraying K’s” is all T.I. knows, and he admits that on “Wildside,” track number four on Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head. A dialogue between Tip and his boys serve as the intro and outro. With the police behind them, they anxiously deliberate on what to do with the weed in the some “raggedy ass” car.

T.I. reunited with his trusty producer friends The Neptunes for “Hello,” a smooth track featuring Cee Lo Green. The Goodie Mob legend provides the hook, which sounds like something written by Pharrell, and Tip handles the verses.
Meanwhile, the “Trouble Man” suited up in hunting gear, returned to Bankhead and got the “Trap Back Jumpin’” by cooking crack and being the wheelman in a drive-by. No police were involved in the making of the ficticious short film.
Celebrities recounting stories about unwavering fans is a frequent topic in interviews, but rarely are they immortalized on video.
Apparently T.I. was boarding his crowded tour bus when a male adult fan approached him for a picture. Tip declined for unknown reasons, yet the overzealous fan persisted on getting a photo with him. The Atlanta rapper became noticeably irritated and demanded the zealous man to ‘stop talking and listen to [him]!’
T.I. collaborated with Christina Aguilera for No Mercy’s “Castle Walls,” and he has teamed up with fellow pop-rocker P!nk for Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head’s “Guns and Roses.”
Tip says he and his old friend P!nk narrate a “bittersweet romantic story” on the T-Minus-produced record. “It’s about a relationship,” he says. “A gentleman [tells] the listener he loves his woman so much, but he can’t stand her an equal amount. It’s a love-hate exchange.”
