Miguel, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu & More Perform At ‘UNCF: An Evening Of Stars’
On Sunday, BET aired UNCF: An Evening Of Stars, a special by the United Negro College Fund that celebrates the power of education and raises money to continue to empower the world through education. This year’s spectacle was filled with electrifying performances from Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Ledisi, Miguel, Anthony Hamilton, Estelle, Musiq Soulchild, Marsha Ambrosius and Patti LaBelle.
Michael L. Lomax, Ph.D., UNCF President and CEO says,
“The new format combines the hottest talent with inspirational stories of young students who are beating the odds because they can receive a good education.”
The show also included star-studded appearances from Tatyana Ali, Pooch Hall, Jill Marie Jones, Coby Bell, David Banner, Lance Gross, Terrence J, KeKe Palmer and more.

Erykah Badu, Jill Scott & More Perform At 33rd Annual UNCF Event
Soulful songstresses Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Patti Labelle and Ledisi, along with R&b crooners Miguel, Anthony Hamilton and Musiq Soulchild performed at the 33rd Annual United Negro College Fund’s Evening of Stars fundraising event in Pasadena, California on Sunday (Aug. 14th). The benefit will broadcast on BET on September 25th.
Since the fundraising ceremony first aired in 1979, the UNCF has become one of the longest running annual televised events in U.S. history. Over the years, the Evening of Stars event has raised more than $200 million in funding, which has benefitted hundreds of thousands of college students. [Boombox]
