Rihanna To Perform At Grammys; Beyoncé At President Obama’s Inauguration; Alicia Keys At BET Honors

High-profile performances from your favorite pop stars are imminent. The Grammys have confirmed that Rihanna, fun., Taylor Swift, Mumford & Sons and The Black Keys are among the performers that will hit the stage at the 55th ceremony on February 10th. LL Cool J is hosting.

Beyoncé has been tapped to perform patriotic songs at President Obama’s second inauguration on January 21st. In 2009, the Pop diva delivered an emotional rendition of Etta James’ “At Last” for President Obama’s first dance. James Taylor and Ron Paul supporter Kelly Clarkson will also perform.

Since 1998, VH1′s Divas has celebrated music’s most talented and vibrant women in music with an unforgettable showcase filled with poignant and electrifying performances and tributes. In support of the Save The Music Foundation, this year’s show pays tribute to the “divas of dance”, like Donna Summer, Madonna and Whitney Houston.

The fifth annual BET Honors celebrated the accomplishments of Maya Angelou, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Spike Lee, the Tuskegee Airmen and Beverly Kearney. Gabrielle Union hosted the event, which will broadcast on February 13.

Acclaimed entertainers radiated on the red carpet: Kelly Rowland, Common, Jill Scott, Ledisi, Luke James and Willow Smith were among the stars that lit up the red carpet. Jennifer Hudson, Patti Labelle, India Arie, Anthony Hamilton, Queen Latifah graced the stage to introduce or pay homage to the honorees.

This year’s Essence Festival in New Orleans celebrates “The Power Of Our Voice” and on Independence Day weekend, some of today’s biggest and brightest crooners will take the stage at the popular festival, which will honor Aretha Franklin with “The Power Award”.

Bridget Kelly, Mary J. Blige, SWV, Keyshia Cole, Fantasia, Luke James, Estelle, Ledisi, Dru Hill, Raheem DeVaughn, Goapele and so much more are set to perform during the three-day weekend. The show is not only recognizing ‘powerful’ voices in music, but in political action, community and civil leadership as well.

Last week saw the taping of VH1′s cultural showcase, VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul, which featured international, soul-influenced entertainers-divas in particular-delivering odes to some of the greatest music and artists in soul. Jessie J, Kelly Clarkson, Jill Scott, Ledisi, Marsha Ambrosius, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Florence + The Machine all took the stage.

Ledisi and Ambrosius, sang a warm rendition of “Sweet Love, but viewers wondered why the song performance saw the absence of its original artist, Anita Baker.
