Last Thursday, pop music’s elite gathered in the Staples Center to celebrate the year’s best videos. In the past, infamous MTV VMA moments were created–Kanye West reminded Taylor Swift her videos will always be subpar compared to Beyoncé’s, Lil’ Mama crashed Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ set and became the butt of all jokes, Lady Gaga killed herself onstage, etc. This year, nothing of the sort happened, making the awards show a snooze fest for most. Despite that obvious fact, let’s recap some buzz worthy moments.

Dr. Dre Tops Forbes’ ‘Hip Hop Cash Kings’ List With $110 Million
Dr. Dre rests uncontended at the top of the Forbe‘s Hip Hop Cash Kings list with pretax earning of $110 million. The bulk of his earnings come from the $300 million deal paid by HTC.
Nicki Minaj, the only woman on the list, rakes in a hefty $15.5 million. She trails her YMCMB cohorts, Lil’ Wayne ($27), Drake ($20.5) and Birdman ($20). View the complete list below.

Drake & Chris Brown Hit With $16 Million Lawsuit Over Club Brawl
Drake and Chris Brown are being sued for $16 million over their infamous club brawl back in June. Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. Believes Aubrey and Christopher should be held responsible for their lost profits. – NY Post

Nicki Minaj Brings Out Foxy Brown, Drake & Lil’ Wayne At Roseland
After pulling out of Hot 97′s Summer Jam at the last minute, Nicki Minaj promised her dedicated minions that she’d play a secret show just for them. She kept her promise by playing at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City last night.
She brought out a slew of guest performers: Cam’Ron came out for “I Am Your Leader”; Drake followed with “Make Me Proud” and “Up All Night”; Foxy Brown, who Nicki says opened more doors for her than any other female rapper, stunned the crowd with “BK Anthem,” “Oh Yeah” and Tables Will Turn”; Lil’ Wayne and Drake performed “The Motto.”

Missy Elliot & Timbaland ‘Will Not Be Participating’ In Aaliyah’s Posthumous Album
This shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Missy Elliot and Timbaland will not be participating in Drake and Noah “40” Shebib’s executive produced posthumous Aaliyah album, contrary to a statement made by Jomo Hankerson of Blackground Records.
