T.I., the self-crowned King of the South, will not tolerate anyone calling him a “has-been.” Especially considering that “no other rapper in history has had to endure the circumstances that [he] had to endure while maintaining a professional career.” 2 Pac, Shyne, Kanye, etc. may beg to differ, but that’s another post.
Months ago, Tip’s good friend Nelly visited Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. Wendy Williams’ former subordinate, Charlamagne, ruffled feathers by labeling both T.I. and Nelly “cold” rappers.
T.I. confronted Charlamagne regarding the comments this morning. Right on cue, Charlamagne tucked his tail, hid his hands and puckered up to the 32-year-old Atlanta rapper.
Elsewhere in the interview, “humble” T.I. discussed the poor reception for No Mercy, people abandoning him for repeatedly going to jail, his single release strategy for Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head and being a visionary like Martin Scorsese, Sean Pennand Denzell Washington. He also said he recorded over 100 songs for the album, and some of the records will be included on ‘Heavy Is the Head’s’ sequel, Trouble Man: He Who Wears The Crown.
