Simone Battle Falls For All The Wrong Boys [Music Video]

By: | October 26th, 2011

The X Factor reject Simone Battle premiered the video for her bubblegum pop song “He Likes Boys,” after she was eliminated from the competition. Amazingly enough, the song and video from the rookie match the lyrical and visual content of something I’d expect from pop superstar Katy Perry. It’s not a stretch that Katy will sing about Russell loving vintage clothing, Lady Gaga and Desperate Housewives in the future.

J. Cole Relays Strong Message In “Lost Ones” Video

By: | October 26th, 2011

Shot three years ago by BBGun, 26-year-old J. Cole premieres the video for “Lost Ones,” a song from his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story.

The video tells a story of responsibility and fatherhood, two obligations that often need to be discussed within the black community. Visuals matched the lyrics well, and the acting between Cole and the unnamed actress was impeccable. I’m impressed.

With just a Dollar and a Dream, this video was shot in 2008 before I even had a record deal. 3 years later, watching it still gives me the same emotions. This is dedicated to the Lost Ones.

Video: Flo Rida “Good Feeling”

By: | October 26th, 2011

Dr. Luke and Avicii created a great production, which samples vocals from Etta James’ “Something’s Got a Hold on Me,” for hip-pop star Flo Rida. He decieded to release the record, “Good Feeling,” as the lead single from his fourth album Only 1 Rida (Part 2).

Similar to Alicia Keys’ “Diary,” Nicki Minaj’s “Did It On ‘Em” and Rihanna’s “Cheers (Drink To That),” the video is put together by a series of actual footage captured on the rapper’s travels. Snoop Dogg and Pleasure P make cameos in the clip.
