Fantasia ‘Back To Me’ (Album Review)

Fantasia Back To Me 1

I did this review a few weeks ago when the album was available for preview on Facebook. I’m not sure why it didn’t post, but here it is now.
Fantasia’s Back to Me debuts at #1 on Billboard’s R&B Charts and #2 on the Top 200 Albums Chart. The album’s lead single “Bittersweet” is #1 for the third consecutive week on the Urban Adult Radio Airplay Charts. Despite all of Fantasia’s trial and tribulations, her album is performing well on the charts. After listening to the album, she deserves all the success she has coming. Selling 117,000 units the first week, the J Records artist isn’t slowing down promotion. She is set to appear on 106th and Park, Monique, The Wendy Williams Show, Regis and Kelly, and many more promoting her next single “I’m Doin’ Me“. Keep doing your thing and keep your head up Tasia Mae.

Trey Songz feat. Drake “The Usual”

“The Usual” will appear on Trey Songz new Passion, Pain, and Pleasure album, which is set to release on September 14th. Drake also adds a verse to “The Usual”. Even though the song isn’t mastered, I doubt that will help the mediocreness of “The Usual”. If you were ever expecting a “Successful [Part II]“… “The Usual” isn’t it. Stay tuned for the CDQ. B.O.B’s MTV Unplugged

Rising star B.O.B recently performed for MTV’s Unplugged series. He performed fan favorites and brought out guests Robin Thicke (“Nothing On You”), Melanie Fiona (“Airplanes”), and Janelle Monáe (“The Kids“). Check out Bobby Ray’s performances. I’ll say “Don’t Let Me Fall” is my favorite.

T.I. & Tiny Arrested for Drug Possesion

TI and Tiny Drug Charges

Here at I Am Boi Genius, I commend myself on not posting the idiocracy found at many other blog sites…but this new tom foolery deserves everyone’s attention. Clifford “T.I.” Harris and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were arrested on drug charges… I’m going to let that marinate. T.I., who was just released from a halfway house in March, has another senseless charge; and yet again, his now wife, Tiny was with him. Do they think they’re the modern day Bonnie and Clyde? What sense does this make? T.I. who made a pledge to attempt to change the viewpoint of youth one being at a time has failed miserably once again. Yes all humans make mistakes, but he proposed that he had learned from his. During a routine traffic stop by West Hollywood police, T.I. and Tiny were pulled over. The cops allegedly smelled the marijuana smoke coming from the Maybach. They both were charged for possession of a controlled substance. (methamphetamines and ecstasy) The bail was set at $10,000.

Indie Spotlight: Major Williams “LIke A Drummer”

Like a Drummer

MajorWilliams has quickly, to many rising in favor, to become one of the next break out artist before the year is over. While amassing a favorable online cult like following he has done what many indie artist aren’t able to do in Hollywood which is cause a buzz big enough to pack out clubs/events whenever he is set to perform his smash single “Like A Drummer”
