Ledisi uses her latest video for “Bravo,” to positively attack stigmas and stereotypes plaguing society by having people that (unfortunately) identify with them, embrace them. Donning purple lightning bolt earrings, the high-spirited soulstress stands firmly with the people to show them they aren’t alone in the fight against discrimination. Great message! Pieces of Me is in stores now.
Brandon Hines spares no expense to show his girlfriend she means the world to him in the video for “Yes You Are.” The R&B number is the lead single from his SoSoDef/Epic Records debut.
Akon leaves the slums, hops in his trainer’s drop-top Jag to prepare for an underground bout in the video for “Hurt Somebody.” He hopes to inspire men to settle their disputes with their fists, rather than with guns. His former artist French Montana is also featured in the video.
Nappy Boy quartet One Chance accompanies their T-Pain produced track, “Echo,” with a video. Under the direction of Jonathan Andrade, the group miserably failed at recreating D’Angelo’s classic “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” video. Nevertheless, it’s a good song, and it can be found on their mixtape, Ain’t No Room For Talk’n.
