Jon Stewart Goes Head-To-Head With Bill O’Reilly On Common Visiting The White House

Last week, Fox News tyrant Bill O’Reilly challenged Jon Stewart of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to a debate over the manufactured controversy surrounding rapper Common’s invitation to the White House poetry slam. Of course Jon accepted the opportunity to illegitimate Fox News even more.

Last night, Stewart appeared on the O’Reilly Factor and indirectly exposed Bill as the racist coward he is. Throughout the debate, O’Reilly referenced to Common visiting and writing a song about Assata Shakur, a member of the Black Liberation Army who was convicted in the killing of a New Jersey police officer in the ‘70s. O’Reilly then suggests that Common “celebrates” cop killers, and President Barack Obama and his administration agrees with Common’s views because they invited him to the poetry event held at The White House.

Jon’s rebuttal was beyond awe-inspiring.

“Why are you drawing the line at Common? There is a selective outrage machine here at Fox – that pettifogs, only when it suits the narrative that suits them. This guy is in the crosshairs in a way that he shouldn’t be, whether you agree with him or not. You might think he’s ignorant in believing that Assata Shakur is innocent; you may think he’s ignorant in believing that Mumia [Abu Jamal] is. But then guess what!? Bono can’t go to the White House; Springsteen can’t go to the White House; Bob Dylan can’t go to the White House! You got a lot of people that aren’t allowed to sit in the White House, because they’ve written songs about people convicted of murder.“

Bill attempted to spin Jon’s validity by rhetorically asking: “should Common get a pass?” Jon interrupted and continued to point out the hypocrisy of most republicans and all of Fox News anchors.

“You have to be consistent with your outrage!”

I’ll say what Jon wanted to say: don’t ostracize Common because he’s black. There has been prominent white entertainers to do exactly what Common has done, and you all didn’t have a problem with it.

Watch the ‘un-common’ debate below…

Expect all of President Obama’s upcoming debates to reflect what you’ve witnessed above.
