Chief Keef’s ‘Finally Rich’ Is Projected To Sell…

Days ago, Chicago cancer Chief Keef’s major label debut, Finally Rich, hit stores. According to HDD, the LP is on track to move 50-55K in its first week. Track number one, “Love Sosa,” made its Billboard Hot 100 debut at No. 82 this week.

Meanwhile, NBC writer Edward McClelland, who happens to be white, has caused some controversy for his highly opinionated review of Finally Rich.

“Since last week’s murders at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, though, I haven’t had the stomach for any violent entertainment,” Edward writes in the opinion section. “While I was watching this Sunday’s Bears game, ads for the movies Gangster Squad and Django Unchained came on TV. Both ads packed two or three shootings into 30 seconds. I don’t want to see either. A culture that glorifies the sexiness of the man with the gun is one reason we have 300,000,000 guns in America. I also don’t want to pay $14 for the minstrel show of listening to a real live South Side thug. I don’t want to support a scene that makes gangbanging a resume builder for music success.”

Was his comments out of line?

Mike WiLL Made It, the producer responsible for Juicy J’s “Bandz A Maker Her Dance” and its rehash, Rihanna’s “Pour It Up,” is gearing up to release Est. In 1989 2.5, the third installment of his mixtape series. He recruited Keef and Young Scooter for “On It.”
