Alicia Keys and Maxwell played their hot and fiery duet “Fire We Make” for a swooning Central Park audience during her Good Morning America concert. The sultry duo plan on packaging their Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell-esque chemistry into an EP.
The decorated musician also performed a revamped version of “Girl On Fire,” along with “Listen To Your Heart,” “No One” and “You Don’t Know My Name.” However, something blinded onlookers from noticing her surprisingly sturdy vocals, and it wasn’t her fuchsia pants. It was—you guessed it—her bizarre bowl cut.
When photos of her GMA appearance appeared on Black Twitter’s timeline, an onslaught of memes mocking the cut followed. People compared her to Gohan, Jamika from Bébé’s Kids, Lloyd Christmas from Dumb & Dumber…the slander never ceased.
Swizz Beatz, Alicia’s husband, vehemently responded to a few Instagram hecklers. Evidently the “Brand New Me” singer caught wind of Black Twitter’s reaction because she quickly styled the cut and posted a photo with the caption, “Versatility!! i’m having so much fun! Love and light to u!”
