Like the spread, the video is filled with scantily displayed fairy tale references. She plays the part of a damsel in distress, coffined in a glass box. Unfortunately, Prince Charming rescues the unicorn queen, and she becomes an evil witch by the end of the video.
“Va Va Voom” is in the same vein of Nicki’s auto-tuned pop tracks–the tolerable “Super Bass,” atrocious “Starships” and deafening “Pound the Alarm.” As expected, the meaningless lyrics have nothing to do with the poorly-directed video. “I ain’t even tryna find out who he datin’/cause I know he got a wife at home/but I need just one night alone,” she raps.
