Frankly, The Game isn’t at the forefront of anyone’s mind–particularly the minds’ of the record-buying public. So what does he decides to do? Spark up some controversy. Like the random Lil’ B attacks prior to The RED Album dropping, the Compton rapper has stooped to new lows in order to garner attention around his Jesus Piece album.
Essentially, the cover is an interpretation of a stained-glass window, much like the ones you’d see in churches. It shows an dark-skinned Jesus Christ wearing a red bandana, which is something members of the Bloog gang use to display their affiliation with the gang. More gang symbols are featured on the cover: the Jesus points at a flaming heart with five chain links surrounding it and the “S” in “Jesus” has a “5” covering it.
If that isn’t bad enough, a teardrop is tattooed underneath the Jesus’ left eye, while two weed plants are shown on the sides of him. Put plainly, the cover is tactless and blasphemous, and it’ll only bring negative attention (if any) to The Game’s album.
