The love of Ne-Yo’s life has been creeping with another man, and he’s left lamenting about his future without her. Much like it’s predecessor, “Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love Yourself),” “Forever Now” houses a club-ready production, crafted by Stargate, filled with sparkly synths and roaring drums. Ne-Yo’s shrilly vocals complement the ‘I will stalk you if you leave me’ anthem.

“Forever Now” is certainly a grower and has the potential to perform well on the charts, but I prefer R&B Ne-Yo as opposed to dance-pop Ne-Yo. Alas, Ne-Yo’s last effort, Libra Scale, was overlooked due to the genre-bending lead single, “Beautiful Monster,” excessive Michael Jackson nuances and complicated concept, but the acclaimed singer-songwriter deserves a seat at the table of R&B elites. Hopefully R.E.D. (11/6) boasts some more ”Lazy Love”-like gems to remind people of Ne-Yo’s significance.
