Miguel covered himself in a black hoodie while speaking with the ignorant hosts of Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. He discussed an array of topics, including his early preference-questioning look, Kaleidoscope Dream LP, past issues with Lloyd, Roscoe Dash fiasco, state of R&B, Frank Ocean coming out and more.
Over the weekend, Miguel released a video of a “P*ssy Is Mine” performance. Fortunately, the clip is not a “home video,” but a stage performance of the overtly erotic song.
Miguel continued his “I will be considered a sex symbol at any cost” campaign by unveiling the video for “Do You…,” the latest single from his ‘Kaleidoscope’ album. In the clip, he does his model girlfriend (Nazanin Mandi) like drugs, performs in tailored-suits and glares in the camera.
“Pussy Is Mine” Live
Did Miguel say “Luther was definitely gay” in the Breakfast Club interview? Can he just make music and not talk?
Miguel and Frank Ocean are vastly different but will be inevitably compared due to their creative approach to R&B music (although Frank has disassociated himself from R&B on numerous occasions). However, Frank will continue to reign supreme over his equally talented counterpart due to his refined approach to… whatever. Where Miguel has to prove that he is a sexual deviant (and not gay), Frank just doesn’t give a damn. Miguel’s frankness regarding sex-related topics could be interpreted as him not giving a damn (see: Rihanna), but his dialogue seems annoyingly unnatural. Some artists can be reclusive to the media and still do well, critically and commercially (see: Sade). Miguel’s music is great enough for him to become one of those artists.
