The starz are not aligned for Brandy Norwood. Her career is a series of misfortunate events.
Her oft-delayed Two Eleven album has been pushed back–again–to October 16th, and the long-awaited video for “Put It Down” is underwhelming. Mostly because of the direction and cinematography, but it’s underwhelming, nevertheless. I’m not sure what the hype is around Hype Williams. His poorly executed camera effects, lack of creative angles, use of bad angles and poor lighting are so amateurish, it’s embarrassing.
The video is just a big ball of confusion. Who exactly is she marketing herself to? Chris Brown’s inclusion is still baffling. There isn’t any chemistry between the two. At least the dancing–the part we could actually see–was entertaining.
Hopefully Timbaland, Ester Dean and other contributors on the album have given Brandy some much-needed heat to bounce back from this excess of mediocrity.
