A 30-second snippet of Mariah Carey’s “Triumphant” new single has been released to Amazon. It begins with Meek Mill rapping about persevering and “climbing to the mountaintop.” The glamorous songbird follows with the jubilant chorus, telling listeners to “stay triumphant” and “reach for the stars.” Rick Ross’ signature grunt can be faintly heard as the snippet fades out.
Although it’s just a snippet, I’m confident enough to assert the full song will not disappoint. There aren’t many inspirational messages in urban music (unless hearing others brag about their riches encourages you), so it’s highly unlikely this record will fail to impress sonically or lyrically. Enlisting two popular figures in rap will surely give the song an even greater push–something MC desperately needs to regain her footing in the industry.
Dissimilar to her successors, Mariah will offer remixes catering to different genres, rather than causing confusion by releasing 5 diverse songs to accommodate various audiences.
Mrs. Carey has unveiled the golden cover art for the single. Her bronzed skin literally glows on the cover. I’m sure her curvaceous figure and toned limbs are results from dieting and exercising, as opposed to excessive Photoshop.
Mariah has filmed scenes for the video, and the song will premiere later today. Are you anticipating MiMi’s return? What do you think about the snippet?
