Kanye West previewed “New God Flow” during his opening performance at the BET Awards. He alluded to his shoes being more popular than Jordan’s on one of the most memorable lines: “hold up, I ain’t tryna stunt, man, but the Yeezys jumped over the jump man (Jumpman).”
Pusha T provides the first verse on the piano-heavy joint. He raps, “I believe there’s a God above me, I’m just the God of everything else. I put holes in everything else! New God flow, f**k everything else!” Another memorable line from Pusha’s verse is:
I think it’s good that ‘Ye got a blow dealer
A hot temper, matched wth a cold killer
I came aboard for more than just to rhyme with him
Think ’99, when Puff woulda had Shyne with him
Kanye, on the other hand, snapped like he was recording for Late Registration. He touched a variety of topics and ended the track with his twist on the cadence call.
Both verses were impressive, but Kanye snapped! Man, it’s gonna be a cruel summer indeed!
“New God Flow” is lifted from Cruel Summer, which is due out on August 7. Are you feeling it?
