Pink and Alicia Keys aren’t the only soulful divas working on comebacks; Christina Aguilera is prepping her comeback as well. Contrary to the mentioned, Xtina’s last project was a commercial disaster, having sold only a little over 300K units since its 2010 release.
The “Hurt” singer experienced chart success with The Voice judge, Adam Levine, on Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger.” She plans on continuing that success with the other judges, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green. They are expected to appear on her forthcoming LP.
It has been described as a “club banger,” with the chorus being built around the line, “All I want to do is what you wanted.” It was produced by Max Martin, responsible for Usher’s “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love,” Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone.” He also crafted several of Katy Perry’s hits, including “Teenage Dream,” “E.T.” and “Part of Me.”
The single is set to arrive in August, a month prior to the season premiere of The Voice. With the help of the singing competition’s platform (and of course an authentic sound), maybe Xtina will regain prominence in the music world.
