Earlier tonight, the 2012 BRIT Awards were held at the O2 Arena in London. Ed Sheeran and Adele were the big winners of the night, taking home two trophies each.
Poised and full of sass, Adele gave a shaky and repetitive rendition of “Rolling In The Deep.” However, it’s not her awards or performance that will have people talking. Adele gave the Brits a middle finger salute after James Corden cut her off during her acceptance speech.
A dapper Bruno Mars, who won best international male solo artist, doo-wopped his way through another impressive rendition of “Just The Way You Are.” Rihanna, the international female solo artist of the year, painted London with vibrant colors as she paraded across the stage, gleefully singing her smash, “We Found Love.”
Chris Martin of Coldplay redeemed himself with “Charlie Brown” and took home a trophy for best band. Florence + the Machine gave a riveting, vibrato-filled showing of “No Light, No Light.” Backed by his trusty guitar, Ed built a “Lego House” for the audience.
With grand entrances, newcomers Emeli Sandé and Lana Del Rey impressed the Brits Voting academy enough to earn a trophy each. Also, simple tributes were given to departed songstresses Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.
