Usually, Adele pens and sings songs of heartache and despair inspired by past relationships with men. “My Same,” a song from Adele’s debut album 19, is actually about her good friend Laura. Before performing the song at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the “Someone Like You” soulstress gave the back-story of their friendship.
During their pre-teen years, Laura and Adele had a falling out. They made up after Adele called and asked for forgiveness.
“I called Laura pretty much almost in tears,” she explains, “telling her that I wanted her to be back in my life and that I needed her and that she was the love of my life.”
A tearful Laura, along with Adele’s other friends, were in the audience for the dedication.
