On Saturday, BET filmed the 4th Annual BET Honors to recognize six African Americans for high achievement in entertainment, media, entrepreneurship, education and public service. This year, among the recognized legends are: legendary actress, Cicely Tyson (Theatrical Arts); Academy Award-winning actor/musician/comedian, Jamie Foxx (Entertainer); supermodel/entrepreneur, Iman (Service); publishing mogul, Linda Johnson Rice (Media); world-renowned musician/composer, Herbie Hancock (Musical Arts); and accomplished historian/educator, Lonnie G. Bunch (Education). Acclaimed actress Gabrielle Union hosted the prestigious event, which was held at the historic Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. The special will premiere during Black History Month on Monday, February 21 at 9pm.
Tyler Perry, Cedric The Entertainer, and Sherri Shepherd all presented at the BET Honors. What’s an award show without performers? BET enlisted Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Tank, Yolanda Adams, Angelique Kidjoe, Chick Corea, Lalah Hathaway, Guy, and Naturally 7 to keep the crowd enthused.
